The crew is ours
The people who walk your line are the people who fabricate the work and the people who install it. We do not sub the labor out and re-badge it, which is the difference you feel on the third day, when a detail at a fitting has to be decided by somebody who will still be standing there tomorrow.
CJM started as a metal shop, and this shop still works that way: jacket stock is rolled, cut and formed on our own benches, and removable covers are cut and sewn on our own table before anything goes to your site. Ells, tees and end caps get made to the fitting. That is why the fit-up on a finished run looks like sheet metal work rather than foil and tape.

The fastest way to waste an afternoon is to find out at the end of it that we were never the right call. So, plainly:
No asbestos work
Our removal is non-asbestos only. If lagging on an old system looks like it could contain asbestos, we stop and tell you — it gets sampled, and anything positive is handled by a licensed abatement contractor before we touch that run. We come back in behind them and rebuild it clean.
Not residential attic insulation
This is industrial and mechanical work — pipe, tanks, vessels and equipment. Blown-in attic and wall insulation is a different trade with different crews and different tools, and we do not offer it.
We do not touch the pipe itself
We insulate lines; we do not weld, fit, re-route or pressure-test them. If a line is leaking, it gets fixed by whoever owns that scope before we cover it — insulating over a weeping joint just hides it until the jacket rusts through.
We do not install heat trace
Electric heat trace is somebody else's scope. We insulate over trace that others install — and on a freeze-protection job that is exactly the right split, because the insulation is what makes the trace work.
How we work in a live plant
Most of what we do is cold work: no welding, no cutting torch, no hot-work permit on the average job — which is why most lines get insulated while they run instead of waiting for a shutdown. Where a tie-in has to open a line, that part goes into your maintenance window, not into a surprise.
The survey is done with an IR gun in hand, and the readings do double duty. Anything above 140°F within reach of a walkway or a work position comes back as a personnel-protection list separate from the fuel numbers — that 140°F line is the industrial design target, and it is what a safety audit checks against.
We sign in, we work to your site rules and your lockout, and we leave the floor clean at the end of each day. At hand-over you get ID tags on the runs and the before-and-after surface temperatures on paper.

Walk it

Fabricate
Sections cut, covers sewn, jacketing rolled and cut on our benches before anyone touches your line. Shop hours instead of plant downtime — and on a shutdown, everything is built before the window opens.
Install
Insulation banded on, joints staggered and sealed, jacket screwed off with the laps facing the weather. On cold lines the vapor barrier gets sealed at every termination, hanger and valve, because that is where cold work fails.
Hand over
ID tags on every run, before-and-after surface temperatures, and a savings sheet for whoever signs the gas bill. The site leaves clean.
The family
Three shops, one owner, one phone number, one office. Each runs its own crew and takes work directly; when a job needs more than one trade, they schedule against each other instead of around each other.
